However, since underwriter UK General Insurance temporarily stopped sales in March 2020 in order to assess the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, it has not been possible for new customers to buy a Debenhams wedding insurance policy.

It was thought this would only be for a short while but, over 12 months later, there's still no sign of Debenhams being given the go-ahead to resume sales.

The situation is, of course, further complicated by the fact that Debenhams went into administration for the second time in April 2020 and went into liquidiation in the December. Although online fashion group Boohoo have purchased the Debenhams brand and business assets, with no expeirence in the insurance sector, it would seem unlikely that sales of Debenhams wedding insurance will resume at all.
